Rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive, this fund supports those navigating economic hardship, insurance limitations, or systemic inequities that make therapy and wellness care inaccessible.

Thank you for supporting the mental health and wellness of your community!

The Butterfly Effect Scholarship Fund is open to individuals residing in

Southern Maryland who:

are experiencing financial hardship or instability
are uninsured, underinsured, or facing high out-of-pocket costs for mental health or wellness services
have experienced barriers to accessing culturally appropriate or trauma-informed care
are actively seeking/engaged in therapy, counseling, or wellness-based support but need assistance covering session or service fees
Priority consideration may be given to:
BIPOC individuals
Individuals with chronic mental health challenges
First-time therapy clients with no other means of access
Former first responders and veterans
LGBTQIA+ individuals
Survivors of trauma or abuse

How The Scholarship Program Works

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis via a brief intake form.
*responses to the form will not be shared with anyone outside the Leadership Team, Clinicians, and Wellness Providers of Hope and Healing Therapy and Wellness Center.
Scholarship awards can range from partial to full coverage, based on need and availability of funds.
Clients will be matched with providers based on their preferences, clinical needs, and therapeutic goals.
Covered Services Include:
mental health treatment (1:1 trauma-informed therapy),
nurse practitioner services, massage, nutrition, and educational consulting.
Funding decisions will be made by The Leadership Team on a quarterly basis to ensure fairness, privacy, and prompt processing. All applicants will be notified with a receipt of application within 30 days of submission via email provided on application form within.
*eligible applicants - will be notified of awards granted within 90 days of application submission
*ineligible applicants - will be notified of ineligibility within 90 days of application submission
Recipients may be eligible for 3–6 months of support, with the possibility of renewal.
Funds will be distributed directly through Hope and Healing Therapy and Wellness Center, with all services provided in-house or through trusted partner practitioners.
